AlmaLinux 10.2 beta is here, this is what's new
"Lavender Lion" is coming with the ability to run 32-bit software in a x86_64 userspace.
The AlmaLinux OS Foundation announced this week the beta release of AlmaLinux OS 10.2, codenamed "Lavender Lion." It's based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.2 and brings a few changes and an upgraded package base.
What's new
- 32-bit userspace support: You can now run software designed for 32-bit (i686) machines on x86_64 AlmaLinux thanks to a collection of packages AlmaLinux promises to maintain through 2035.
- Package base upgrade: Several software suites are being upgraded with this release.

Why this update matters: AlmaLinux is one of the most reliable Linux platforms that's also free and validated. It's the spiritual successor to the stable version of CentOS Linux.
