Zooming out

Why this update matters: AlmaLinux is one of the most reliable Linux platforms that's also free and validated. It's the spiritual successor to the stable version of CentOS Linux.

Worth noting: The announcement post assures the beta has been patched for the Copy Fail vulnerability.

Diving in

The fineprint: Read the blog announcement or the beta release notes for more details.

Get it now: Go to the beta ISO archive to get a downloadable image. Since it's a beta release, it isn't meant for critical systems. You can go to the AlmaLinux bug tracker though to report issues you run into in preparation for the full release.
